Jeff Gundlach Has Been Bashing The WSJ For A Story It's Still Working On

FYI: DoubleLine Capital is engaged in an unusual media relations campaign against the Wall Street Journal, attacking reporters on Twitter and in emails to rival news organizations for a story that has yet to be published.

  • On twitter he has 33.8K followers and 0 following. Now that's a stat.....
  • The WSJ has been going downhill since Murdoch bought it.
  • It's rather amazing to attack an article before even publication. Even more so are readers who support Gundlach for doing it. Those are the kind of anti-free-press tactics that exist in dictatorships. Apparently, it's "fake news" before it's even news now. The fact that WSJ is taking it's time researching the story is an encouraging sign, not a discouraging one.

    Yep.

LB, you'd think that those who make their living from our incredibly valuable and important right to free speech would want to defend that right for everyone. Instead you choose to criticize Gundlach and even more so those who agree with him for exercising their rights. That, of course, is also your right, but your use of inflammatory language to evoke an emotional reaction rather than a well thought out one is abusive even if it's still within your rights. Most dictatorships don't engage in public debates about facts or opinions, they imprison, they nationalize, they murder and they control the legal system that, in free countries, is supposed to independently arbitrate questions of whether free speech goes too far.
