  • This is my industry/sector -- cyber -- and yes, the government's demonstrating complete idiocy in how it's handling this, particularly the clowns running OPM these days. Sadly, I think it'll make a fine case study one day on how NOT to a) conduct incident handling b) run a cybersecurity program.

    On a related note, I'm one of those potentially affected by this incident.

  • Reminds me of my old CG days. On my way to my first duty in Alaska, weather canceled the last flight leg so three of us got a hotel in Anchorage. We split the room rate. Turned in the receipts and some weeks later all three of us got full reimbursement for the room instead of ⅓ the rate. Mentioned this to the yeoman. He said they would redo it and deduct it out of our pay. ( We were honest). Some weeks later we received a second check for the full amount again.

    What's a honest guy to do? We treated everyone at the EM club.
