Skeeter,
As I sold all funds to cash in February before I retired I was in all cash when the pandemic started. Moved monies to Schwab and have been slowly adding funds. Bought EGFFX, RPHYX, CPOAX, JENSX, PTIAX, SWAGX, GGSOX for a start. Still have …
David Baldacci - Amos Decker Series and the Whole Truth.
Westerns including L'Amour and others.
Robert B. Parker and the Spenser series.
Dean Koontz the Jane Hawk Series. (Plot to take over the USA ).
Nothing serious, just retired as pandemic …
President Trump nor any president should not get all the blame or the credit for what happens in and to our country. Plenty other politician and leaders need to share the blame/credit. The world is to complicated to think otherwise. I ignore the pol…
It means I can do what ever I want, with in reason of course. I am often asked "what I am going to do''? Which I reply " It's not what I am going to do but what I am not going to do. Not going to work!
I look forward to being able to choose my investing options myself. I help my parents with their Vanguard account and they do better than I do at times. 401 fund choices are good for accumulation phase and the trustees are going with more index fund…
The combo of AMRMX, VIGRX, OARIX and PTTRX are my current choices. Monthly contributions have been going into the GIC for a few years now. OARIX is showing sign of life of late. Not been kind to me the last few years but I didn't have another option…
I had my 401 set up as you suggest until recently.
The question I asked was:
''Which funds of my 401 choices would you leave money in the next 6 months.''
Skeet, I am afraid of a downturn in the market and having to sell once I retire and not be able to recoup my losses. Typically I would hold till things came back up. I suppose I could rebuy the same funds, only problem is they most likely would not…
No apologies needed. I do far better with investments at Fidelity and Vanguard where I can pick my MF's vs. the few choices in my 401. Looking forward to that rollover.

Just looking for an opinion on funds for the short term. Once I retire the money will not be at my workplace anymore. After I rollover I can pick which funds I want.
Mike, I had considered Schwab in the past but forgot about that. Reason at the time was a local office is available and investment choices looked good. Thought was that if I died first my wife would have someone to sit with and talk to about monies …
3/31/2020 Is my retirement date. I have all the signs of retiring early disease. The living on budget thing is something that spouse is having a hard time with...
Mike, The funds listed are in a ROTH which is about 10% of portfolio. Thanks for your opinion.
Ted, Thanks for your opinion on the funds I listed.
Hank/Sven, TRP is looking like a good place to consolidate monies once I retire. Or buy TRP at Fidel…
OJ Censorship is up to the moderator. Just because no one speaks out doesn't mean that support for it is not there. It's to bad that it's even being discussed.
So now I am ignorant and you have decided that i am like the president. My problem was not with the article, who wrote it but with the prevailing tone of the posts. I never insulted you personally as you did with me. Adios.
Lewis Now your bad attitude is focused on me. As I told OJ I never read the article nor knew who wrote it. I scanned and saw the commentary and wasn't interested anymore. I am not backing off of anything. Your opinions are yours and I have mine.
Lewis
Here we go again with the negative comments. What am I to do as I cannot get away from them even just reading "Fund Discussions". You got an axe to grind take it elsewhere please. Keep it in the OT section.
"The Observer exists as a public service, as a place for individuals to interact, grow, learn and gain confidence." How does the political talk do any of the mentioned items?
VF No small cap index. I always liked the dividend mandate of PCVAX. Now this fund will outperform. I have held it all these years and someone else is making decisions for me.
Prime shipping is anything but 2 days of late. Convenient it is but I hate to see the brick and mortar stores close. Local shopping mall is losing the Younkers soon.
Prime gets you access to video and many TV shows. We just cut the cable cord and use Amazon Prime Video to watch movies and shows. Some channels are as little as $.99 a month.
All the talk about banning guns just make some people go buy more guns. I say buy Vanguard and Blackrock if we want to make money and not a political statement. Banning guns is not the answer to the violence in my opinion. Once the guns are gone the…
Pudd, You are correct as I am a Journeyman electrician. Don't dwell on the ex-wives thing. Latest wife is wonderful. It's not that I think CHTTX is a good fund it is the only US MC fund choice in my workplace 401. Two of my midcap choices would be W…
Slick, A nice collection of funds. Curious did you make an effort to transfer 401's and IRA's to the ROTH after you retired? This is something I am thinking about doing as you do not need earned income to make a transfer.
Skeet, I used to have M-Star's premium and used that for x-rays but got tired of paying that yearly cost. Now days I don't bother with the x-ray. I do lean to value funds and small/mid caps but that has not been the place to be the last few years. M…
