13D Activist I DDDIX

edited January 2014 in Fund Discussions
Will certainly benefit from news on Beam today.

Lately, activism seems more potent than M&A.

The ER is too high, but I feel that way about just about all the actively managed funds. The A class shares are outrageous at 1.75% er with a 5.75% load...can you believe?

Here's link to M* summary:

Reply to @Maurice: Hi Maurice. Nope. Leap of faith. I have not done any due diligence on it. It was the activist bent that triggered my attention...it holds BEAM. Wanted to see if members on the board had any experience with the fund and/or thoughts on the activist pursuit strategy.

Maybe a bit like ambulance chasing?

I think it's an interesting fund, but unless the minimum comes wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy down, not for me.

In terms of Beam, I own Diageo and am thinking about Pernod Ricard or Brown Foreman.
