Four Great Actively Managed Vanguard Funds

Comments

  • edited April 2014
Do you find it odd that the "long time Vanguard watcher" touting the Primecap funds didn't know that POAGX was closed to new investors?
  • @PRESSmUP: I am quite sure that Dan Dan the Vanguard man knows POAGX is closed to new investors. That doesn't mean he can't like Primecap superior fund returns, plus existing shareholders can buy more. I think your being a little picky.
    Regards,
    Ted
  • I think Vanguard's new, actively managed, global minimum volatility fund VMVFX looks promising. They've got a 20% allocation to it in the managed payout fund VPGDX.

No, not being picky...just reading the article. He indicated VHCOX was closed..and then recommended POAGX, with no mention of its status.

    Pretty straightforward. Unforced error.
  • Dan's newsletter states clearly that VHCOX and POAGX are closed. He recommends Primecap Odyssey Growth (POGRX) instead. The misunderstanding (or misstatement, if you will) probably lies with the person who wrote the article.
