  • Nice article, per which the "Harvard-educated" (maybe Harvard forgot a course) Oberwager, holder of both MBA and MD degrees, did give the lovely and obviously darn smart Miss Stefanski signed checks with no limit as to amount, currency, or time of use, "backpedaled" in statements to police, and otherwise conducted himself as a hurt sugar daddy. In for a dime, in for a dollar - or $80,000 plus cost of journalism degree. That could be considered cheap for the number of years they spent together.

    ""Harvard-educated" (maybe Harvard forgot a course) "

They forgot a course in gold diggers, taught by professors Kayne West and Jay-Z.

    (kidding...)

Additionally, speaking of rappers for those who haven't seen it, "Chappelle's Show" did a brilliant skit called "Wu Tang Financial" (a parody of your average sunny Schwab ad) in 2003. Linked because of explicit (but very, very funny) content. If you don't mind some curses, it's good for a laugh (needed on a day like today.)

  • Andrew W. Operwager, M.D., CFA was a submanager of Van Eck Multi-Manager Alternatives Find (VMAAX, VMAIX) from 2009 to April 2010, via Columbus Circle Investors (CCI). CCI, along with a couple of Van Eck managers, appears to have been summarily dismissed in April 2010, because the initial May 1, 2010 prospectus shows these managers, the final May 1, 2010 prospectus does not.

    His bio:
Andrew Oberwager joined Columbus Circle Investors in February 2002. Prior to becoming Vice President/Co-Portfolio Manager, he held the position of Senior Securities Analyst. Dr. Oberwager received his Medical Doctor degree from Harvard Medical School in 2001. He previously worked at The University of Pennsylvania’s Institute For Human Gene Therapy, conducting molecular biology laboratory research. He received his B.A. from Princeton University in 1997. Dr. Oberwager has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and he is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts.
I suppose CFA wasn't sufficiently titillating; MBA had to be substituted. Typical ignorance of even basic facts that one has come to expect from Murdoch (NY Post).

Reply to @Maurice: Well, err, the old Geezer owns Barrons if not mistaken. Tried out their tablet edition on a new IPad for few months and then couldn't get her stopped. Called their cus/serv repeatedly and didn't seem to know their head from *#%!&$. So we had bank cancel the credit card and issue a new one just to prevent additional charges. Got lota subscriptions on the Kindle and have never run into this with Amazon - always smooth as silk.
