Asness Upstages Gross At Today's M* Keynote

Comments

  • Poppycock. If His Asness didn't want Gross to feel bad, he shouldn't have done what he did. It was totally intentional. My problem is not that he did it. My problem His Asness does not have the Cajones to own up to it.
  • Got to love his name "Asness". Can't image the teasing he received growing up. He is also quite politically out-spoken.

If you've not read The Quants, by Scott Patterson (recommend by our own Scott)...it's a rave. Cliff Asness is a central figure.
  • Charles, Thanks. Will see if it is available in our local library ?
  • "The Quants" is a highly entertaining read that is one of those books on finance that moves along at a rapid, movie-like pace (similar to Michael Lewis books.) Asness has a famous temper, but I think he's highly intelligent and occasionally very funny (when called both a "hedge fund heavyweight" and "quant king" in the same sentence on CNBC, he remarked that "that adds up to fat geek.")
