Average Stock Declines From 52-Week Highs

FYI: : The S&P 500 may have closed at an all-time high just three days ago, but some may be surprised by the fact that the average stock in the S&P 500 is down 7.5% from its own 52-week high. While that may sound startling at first, keep in mind that the index is made up of 500 stocks, and while most stocks typically move in the same direction, different areas of the market fall in and out of favor at different times, even as the overall trend is higher.
