Zero Hedge is not one of my favorite sites but while I was reading an article about Bill Miller, I came across this interesting bit.

  • 1. The US annual GDP is about 15 trillion dollars. The world's GDP is probably 4 or 5 times that. So an error of 0.3 trillion out of 60 or 70 trillion is not too bad.
    2. I read a book by Misha Glenny called McMafia. According to Glenny, about 20% of the world's economic activity is conducted by organized crime. That could make it tough to calculate down to a fraction of a trillion dollars.
