Reservations for Apple's iPhone 6 and 6+ hit 2 million in just 6 hours.

This would coincide with the reports that customers were scrambling to buy iPhones that were smuggled in at black market prices. A lot of industry watchers are monitoring the China market to gauge the success of Apple in Asia.

Given the concerns that I have about US tech companies facing an increasingly chilly reception in Asia (see the recent situation with Qualcomm, for example), I am rather impressed by Apple's progress, including some discussion that Apple Pay will be working with China's Union Pay state credit card.
