FYI: Retail woes remain even as oil falls to multi-year lows.
Thursday brings a slew of reports from retailers that will give investors an idea of how the holiday shopping season went. A number of large chain stores are set to release December same-store sales Thursday, which are expected to increase 3.8%, according to research firm Retail Metrics. That would represent the strongest end to a year since 2006, but other signs don’t bode well for retail stocks.
