Top Funds: Will Consumer Discretionary Catch Staples?

FYI: Consumer staples mutual funds have outperformed consumer discretionary funds and the broad market most of the time since July 2000.
Ten thousand dollars plunked into the average consumer staples mutual fund on June 30, 2000, would have grown to $32,377 by Jan. 6 this year, according to Morningstar Inc. data.
