In 2015, Cash Really Was King

FYI: How bad was 2015 for investors? So bad that cash was the best performing asset class.
That may not be totally, literally true. The Nasdaq, for example, has had a pretty good year. But of the four major asset classes for U.S. investors – stocks, bonds, commodities, and cash – cash was the biggest winner, with its piddling 0.1% return. That hasn’t happened in eight decades, according to Jim Bianco of Bianco Research.

“We’ve got data going back 80 years,” Mr. Bianco said yesterday in an interview on Bloomberg. “That’s the worst year ever.”

Ted
