Can We Shut Up About Those ‘Risky’ Low-Vol ETFs Now?

FYI: (This is a follow-up article)
surprising “Leave” vote in the U.K. triggered once-in-a-generation currency swings and sent the S&P 500 careening 3.6% to its worst one-day decline since August.

Meanwhile, the iShares Edge Min Vol USA ETF (USMV) and PowerShares S&P 500 Low Volatility Portfolio (SPLV) did what they’ve done all along — see price swings that are less volatile than the broader market. Both fell a lot, about 1.7% on Friday, but declines were less than half as severe as the benchmark.

Ted
