The Markets and More ... February 8, 2017

Hello & good morning,

Yesterday the S&P 500 Index closed at 2293.08 putting it up +0.02% for the day. The three best performing sectors were consumer staples, technology and utilities.

In checking the markets this morning both Europe and Asia are trading mixed while in the States the futures are pointing for stocks to be up and government bonds down. Yesterday, the U S 10 year closed with a yield of 2.386%.

Yesterday, the three best performing futures were orange juice, ethanol and lean hogs.

Some noteworthy companies reporting earnings today are GlaxoSmithKline, Good Year Tire & Rubber, Owens Corning and Time Warner.
