Can someone tell me what has happened to Royce Low Priced Stock fund?

It's so bad compared to it's peers.

  • The fund was too big to begin with, but more than that, most of royce's more popular small cap funds are too big.....leading to the firm having too much AUM firmwide to execute their strategy appropriately. I think the acquisition by Legg Mason might have something to do with it, not greed....I stopped investing in Royce funds about 2 years ago. I bought RYVPX when it first came out and then was let down year after year when it ballooned to over 3 billion in assets with very mediocre performance despite an above average expense ratio. I also used to be an investor in RYOTX, and RIVFX.
