Women are Better Investors

Hi Guys,

Some things are obvious; some not much so.

There is little argument that females do some things much better than males. At a most fundamental level, the weaker sex outlive us males by many years.

It is not so obvious that women are superior investors. When asked, most responders believe that men do better in the investment marketplace. That's wrong! A recent survey reported in Reuters reinforces earlier such surveys. Women generate superior investment outcomes. Here is the Link to that article:

Many of us are familiar with studies of this nature. No shock there. But women also have survival advantages in areas that are surprising, perhaps even shocking given the cause under examination.

Women are superior survivors under lightning conditions. According to the book "Life: the Odds", women suffer only 16% of lightning deaths while unfortunate men make up 84% of that unlucky cohort. The book's summary advice is that women should follow their instincts. Men should observe what women are doing and should follow the female leads.

Perhaps, in the investment world, that might not be bad advice also.

Best Regards
