John Bogle’s New Book

MJG
edited August 2012 in Fund Discussions
Hi Guys,

Legionary mutual fund protagonist John Bogle has just written a new book. It is titled “The Clash of the Cultures”.

I have not yet read it. But it is John Bogle being John Bogle. As expected, it deals with industry distortions, costs, stewardship, long-term verses short-term investing, and the tensions between speculative and fundamental investment philosophies.

The book seems to be an expansion of an article that Bogle composed for The Journal of Portfolio Management in 2011. Here is the Link to that article:

He is not impressed with the undistinguished records of standard fund managers, hedge fund managers, or private investors. From his perspective, all these groups fail to generate market-like rewards.

It is likely Bogle prepared a video as an adjunct to his book release. Here is a Link to a YouTube video in which he discusses his latest effort:

Enjoy. Bogle keeps championing the individual investor, His trustworthiness and honesty continues to brightly shine.

Best Regards.
