ICI Mutual Fund Flows - You'll Never Guess!

edited August 2012 in Fund Discussions
A lot more money flowing out of stock funds and yet more money flowing in bonds. Shocking, right?

In all seriousness, it's actually rather remarkable how the recent rise in the markets was not met with chasing markets, but a significant ramp in selling. The retail investor psychology (and that is a generalization, obviously, but lets say what appears to be a fairly large part) has really not changed and people are still selling.

  • Hi Scott,
Will be interesting to find whether new and/or some bond investors are/have been watching the numbers related to dollar pricing with bonds the past few weeks; as has been noted, beginning July 25. Might just cause some head scratching from those who do not follow the numbers in a timely fashion.
    Take care,
