Have Financial Advisors Gone Sour On 529 College Savings Plans ?
Direct Sale channel is making investing with Advisor sold more expensive plans totally unnecessary. When there is not enough money to siphon away, advisor sold plans are being eliminated. This is actually a good thing IMHO.
Reply to @Investor: Concur with your assessment. We stay away from advisor sold products as many do not provided better return than simple index funds. In 2008 downturn, these active managed funds in my home state actually performed worst than index funds.
