2.9%+ (including bonus) for cash account

Normally I don't post commercial promotions, but this seems legitimate, of value, and with virtually no downside.

Ally Bank is offering a 1% bonus if you sign up by this weekend, fund with new money by early next month, and keep the money there until at least January 15th. (So that's an effective rate of over 4% on the bonus alone.)

Current rates include 1.9% for their Online Savings (no ATM/debit card access), 2.0%-2.1% for their11 month no withdrawal penalty CDs over $5K, and 2.5%+ for 12 month or longer CDs.

just bought bond GM c 5.95%49bond today @ schwab, YTM ~ mid 6.5%, problem its too long mature late 2040s...no red flags [except in 2009 when many corporations/companies were crashing/defaults]...
