Wasatch Emerging Markets Select Fund™ (WAESX)

See also their White Paper on emerging markets, quite informative.

It seems that the basic idea is similar to their Heritage fund WAHGX: Mid cap companies, graduated from their small cap ones. WAHGX was less impressive that some other Wasatch funds, but maybe with Emerging markets this strategy can work? So far, WAEMX and WAFMX were quite successful, though WAEMX is very large now for its small cap mandate. Perhaps this is the reason for the new fund...

  • With a target portfolio of 30-50 holdings, it is much more "select" (concentrated) than either WAEMX and WAFMX, which have over 90 holdings each.
  • Thanks for the info; good stuff. I've been poking around in the Wasatch and Grandeur Peak territories, but haven't managed to settle on one of their funds yet.
