U.S. Consumers Would Rather Have A Free Tank Of Gas Than A Free Dinner

FYI: Volatile prices make gasoline a particularly risky investment, but the fuel’s importance to drivers hasn’t wavered.

A recent study from GasBuddy found that 86% of Americans depend on gasoline every day and consider it to be a household expenditure that’s more important than other major expenses, such as health care and savings. Only groceries, housing, and utilities were seen as more essential, according to the gasoline-price tracker’s 2019 Consumer Sentiment on Gasoline Study.
