M* Nominees For Fixed-Income Manager Of The Year

Comments

  • I'll note that the Reams Asset Management team, recognized by Morningstar for their work with Scout Core, also manage Scout Unconstrained Bond Fund (SUBFX) which we profiled in November 2012.

    As ever,

  • Interesting choices. The comments following the article would indicate that Mr. Gundlach has followers as snarly as he is. Boy, were they indignant that he was not among the nominees. Relax, folks. There are several of my favorites who are not there, either. The folks at Lord Abbett Short Duration LLDYX, Goldman Sachs Emerg Debt GSDIX, BlackRock Strategic Income BSIIX, OSterweis Strategic Income OSTIX certainly deserve a mention. And then there are the perenniels: Templeton Global Bond TGBAX and Loomis Sayles LSBDX. I usually have less to quibble about M*'s bond picks than I do their often strange stock fund manager picks.
  • The Scout fund is fairly new, isn't it? Isn't it a bit early in the funds' tender years for these kinds of accolades?
