Vanguard to stop bill-paying for wealthy clients, amid ‘price war’

Vanguard is terminating Vanguard Advantage accounts.

In case you don't know what they are, you're in good company. They're cash management accounts (bill pay, checking, debit card) that were only offered to Voyager Select ($500K level) and Flagship ($1M level) customers.

If you were a "mere" Voyager Select investor, you had to pay $30/year for the account, plus $4.95/mo for bill pay. All customers (even Flagship) got no ATM rebates; you either used a PNC machine or paid what the machine charged. It's no wonder Vanguard is terminating the service for lack of use.
