Reading Pessimism in the Market for Bonds

Comments

  • Interesting this article runs at the same time the one posted by Ted says folks are bullish on bonds and continuing to dump money into fixed-income.
  • Latest week inflow/outflow:

More outflows from stocks (which seem to have picked up in the last few weeks), but also outflows from muni bonds.

Reply to @BobC: First saw this in The International Herald Tribune - the European version of the NYT. In the Tribune the article carries a different title: "The Bears Return to the Bond Market." My take on just one read is that Norris is either referring to the big players who are voicing alarm or to the specter of an approaching debacle. Recent data by Ted & others appears to support continued inflows into bond funds.

Titles sometimes mystify me & David shared a glimpse recently into the interplay among writer, editor & publisher that determines titles. --- Not to disregard your observation which is valid and appreciated! Regards
