A REIT Fund Preaches ‘Common Sense’: (PPTY)

FYI: U.S. Diversified Real Estate ETF (PPTY) has a surprisingly obvious focus: location.

Funds that invest in shares of real-estate investment trusts often pick those REITs based largely on market capitalization. PPTY instead focuses on “common-sense real-estate factors” such as the location of the REITs’ holdings, along with the type of property they hold and the REITs’ debt levels. says Fred Stoops, head of real estate at Vident Financial, which manages the fund.
