Summary

I added Chimera's Series D preferred stock to my income portfolio last week.
I am overweighting preferred stocks as a hedge against heightened market volatility going forward while securing attractive dividend income at the same time.
Chimera Investment Corp.'s relatively new Series D preferred stock combines fixed and floating rate dividend payments.

    I bought a prefered stock ETF, PFFD, for much the same reason last week.
