Charles Schwab Scores In Legal Fight Over 401(k) Plans

FYI: Charles Schwab notched a big court victory on Tuesday in a case that may reverberate through the retirement-plan industry.

A federal appeals court panel ruled that Schwab (ticker: SCHW) could use arbitration to settle individual claims against it over its 401(k) retirement plan, rather than facing a proposed class-action lawsuit. A district court had ruled against arbitration, but the appellate decision blocks the class action from proceeding.
