What we need is a time machine for this administration to carry out the pandemic playbook that was already planned and tested. Luckily the transmission mode of ebola virus is limited through blood and thus it is nowhere nearly as contagious as that of COVID_19. Ebola was limited in Africa and it eventually died out. Instead, Trump reduced the CDC budget, remove key medical experts in the task force team, and responded to the crisis half-heartily. Imagine if we have someone who is competent and willing to listen to their medical experts early. The outcome would more like that of South Korea, Singapore and China.
