Should I Invest in Structured Notes?

There’s not much to like in these complex investments.

(short answer: NO.)

I remember these things heading into 2007 ... I told my then-UBS advisor thanks but no thanks. He was kind of impressed I asked for the documentation and read them to see how horridly these 'barrier' or 'principal protected' notes were. And sure enough, they imploded during the GFC.

I still have the prospectuses and presentations in my archives, which I read now and then for amusement.
