Ranking Asset Classes by Historical Returns (1985-2020)

Quite an interesting chart.

These asset class charts are always interesting, but they never do help with future expectations. Its history. Never a bad idea to be invested in all Asset classes to some degree, I suppose.

Example: I feel like commercial REITs will have a really tough time going forward, but situations can change quickly. There were so many office buildings that were empty even pre-Covid. And what is the future of the Mall? Mom & pop retail? Will Offices ever be full of white-collar workers again, or is WFH the new trend (saving overhead costs)?

Anyway, no shortage of predictions about the markets each year, especially from Brokerage houses, and they are usually quite optimistic. Just throwing darts, though.
