The cost of returning to the office

Howdy folks,

I'm sure this has been beaten to death but wifey and I were talking this morning about the costs of working downtown in the office. For us in Lansing, there is City Income tax, parking (~$250 month), cost of commute, lost time due to commute and getting dressed for the office. The boy and his wife were spending $25K per year for daycare. And you wonder why folks want to stay remote.

It also points to shorting opportunities for any firm that insists on workers returning to the office - and don't really increase their pay to compensate for items listed above. How about commercial real estate?

Nopers, we're in a different world,

and so it goes,

peace,

rono

  • I guess those parents that have grandparents that take care of the kids, deliver & pick them up from school, should be more than thankful . All good points @rono.
