The abundance of the oceans inspired this quote:
"Water water everywhere but not a drop to drink"
The North Dakota Bakkens seem pose to inspire another:
"Natural Gas, Natural Gas everywhere but not a pipeline to sip it"

As a result, one field in North Dakota, the state leading the energy revolution, is now burning off enough gas to power all the homes in Chicago and Washington D.C. combined. Here's what NASA photographed at night from Space.
