Loews (L) Tries to Make Value Case Using A New Comic Book Mascot

edited April 2013 in Off-Topic
WTF.

9:00 AM Frustrated for years Loews (L) doesn't trade at or above a sum-of-the-parts valuation, the Tisch family may be going after a new type of value investor, unveiling a snazzy (by value shop standards) new logo and website, and introducing comic book hero Lotta Value: Investment Hunter. Underneath it all, nothing's changed: "Money does not burn a hole in our pockets - we set a high bar for use of our cash resources." [Financials] Comment!

"Join Lotta on a Quest For Value"

I think it will continue to trade at a discount for a long time to come. Well-known name, but this isn't going to help it get newfound respect.

  • They need help. It sounds like someone just reading a script, a boring one at that.
  • The Tisch Family.
