As one might expect, companies will absorb some of the impact at first, hurting shareholders. Then they will slowly roll out price increases, like boiling a frog.
Inflation may not surge all at once and recede, like after all that Covid stimulus. Rather just slowly eat away at profits, consumer spending and probably jobs. I would assume that this is the environment that will underpin the next recession. Withe the FED caught in the middle of a very flawed economic policy.
