    Thanks for posting!
    As was mentioned in the OP, Mr. Ellis considered Social Security and the National Institutes of Health
    to be two of the greatest American investments.
    Our executive and legislative branches of government should imagine potential long-term benefits
    while deliberating federal appropriations.
    These so-called leaders often have a short-term mindset.
