Fisher - Fed "Closer to Execution Mode"

edited August 2013 in Off-Topic
Freudian slip?

"Having stated this quite clearly, and with the unemployment rate having come down to 7.4 percent, I would say that the (Fed's policy-setting) committee is now closer to execution mode," Fisher told the National Association of State Retirement Administrators in Portland, Oregon. Fisher has been saying these things for a while and while I don't disagree with him on a good deal of what he says, it is interesting that he is also a Fed governor who, at least a few years ago (and maybe is still) seemed awfully prepared for inflation.

"What is far more surprising, is that the Fed's FOMC may well have a gold bug within its midst, because we were rather surprised to find that none other than the Dallas Fed's Dick Fisher, who however is no longer a voting Fed president in the 2012 year, is a proud owner of at least $1 million worth of Gold in the form of the GLD ETF....and another up to $250K in physical (not paper) platinum. "

  • We need to know if 1M GLD is out of (say) 10M portfolio, or not...only then it makes for a story IMO. How the heck do Fed Govs get so rich?
