An Unlikely Resource

Hi Guys,

I am still not quite sure how I arrived at this investment resource, but I did.

Here is a Link to an article from The Fiscally Fit Man website that declared that “This man will make you Rich”. The assertion seems a bit exaggerated and probably outlandish, but the piece does summarize some of John Bogle’s investment wisdom.

http://www.menshealth.com/fiscally-fit-man/man-will-make-you-rich

These are very general remarks. The following Link titled “A Dozen Things I’ve Learned from John Bogle About Investing” digs at least one level deeper into Bogle’s overarching guideposts:

http://25iq.com/2013/09/28/a-dozen-things-ive-learned-from-john-bogle-about-investing/

I recognize that these two references are very one-sided in favor of passive investing. I am definitely exploiting MFO’s fair-minded Modus Viventi policy. We can all profit from this policy that permits us to peacefully and respectfully agree to disagree on workable investment practices.

The last reference is a veritable treasure chest of advice from famous investors in the form of a series titled “A Dozen Things I’ve Learned from (fill in a name)”. For example, here is the Link to the listing when the filled in name is John Templeton:

http://25iq.com/2013/09/11/a-dozen-things-i-learned-from-john-templeton-about-investing/

Many of the learning from these market giants center on their inability to project or forecast with any reliable consistency. Accurate forecasts are just not possible. You just might want to visit the number One lesson given in the Benjamin Graham listing. Forecasting is a fool’s game according to the grandmaster.

Please enjoy and profit from this assemblage of market lessons from successful and street-wise practitioners.

Best Regards.

    Hi Guys,

I was not familiar with the 25iq website that I referenced in my original posting. I have since discovered the depth and richness of the financial material that is accessible on that site. I am overwhelmed by it, and wanted to alert you guys to its many fine offerings. My enthusiasm warranted this appendix.

The proprietor of the operation is Tren Griffen, currently a Microsoft employee. He seems to be a prolific writer and expands the site content frequently.

His “ A Dozen Things I’ve Learned …” series is far more extensive than I initially realized. It includes extractions from the likes of John Maynard Keynes, Peter Lynch, and George Soros. For example, here is a Link to his lessons from George Soros:

    http://25iq.com/2013/07/30/a-dozen-things-about-investing-ive-learned-from-george-soros/

Michael Mauboussin, one of the investment experts he profiled within his Dozen Lessons series, is impressed with his work and has recommended that he convert it into book form.

Please visit the 25iq website. I found maneuvering around it a little troublesome, but the investment wisdom it offers is well worth the extra effort.

Do not allow this opportunity to slip-slide away.

    Best Regards.
