Just updated to IOS 26

edited December 2 in Off-Topic
It's been out for a month. But early reviews didn't sound that great. I like the appearance better than the old. The old apps seem to work fine. ipad might be running a little warmer. Have 3 eligible devices, including an old iphone. Upgrading all of them.

  • Interesting. My phone is on 18and my pad just asked if I want to install 17.7.10. I will have to check my other devices later.

Perhaps if you scroll down further you might see "Upgrade to IOS 26"? It's not immediately noticeable. I guess they don't want to push people to it.

My iphone is a 12 mini. The oldest ipad is a 5th generation. Both took 26.

Upgrading to 26 consumes some extra memory, although once installed it takes up less. Unloading a couple dozen audio books did the trick for me. Can reload as needed.

I just did it. Thanks for the reminder. It took a lot of futzing around (deleting apps and data) to get it to install on an iPhone 12 64GB. Needed 20 GB of free space.

So far, I like the changes to the camera app.
  • Yesterday I tried to purchase an app from Apple and learned you needed IOS 26 for it. That pushed me a bit to do it. Glad it worked for you @DrVenture.
