This retirement calculator is from a 401k advisory firm which is co-founded by Nobel Laureate Harry Markowitz. It is based on monte-carlo simulation. It is quicker and simpler than some other Monte Carlo simulators such as the one offered by Financial Engines (which is co-founded by another Nobel Laureate William Sharpe)
