Less than one month into 2017. Nobody should hang a hat on this yet. For those that wonder, this is the old GiftTrust Fund that had its issues some years well back. Now as All Cap Growth, one can purchase without the trust feature if they wish.
I just got this email overnight. Apparently American Century is adjusting their exposure for their target funds and other funds that allow for this.

He was betting on a sure thing that wasn't so. I hope he gets nailed to the wall for a laundry list of things including election fraud and tampering, money laundering, espionage, attempting to overthrow the government and much more.
Yep, it's obvi…
After the distribution period and first of the year, I condensed my port from 9 funds to 3 funds concentrating on income and income and growth. This gives me roughly a 40% exposure to equities.
She did lose. The EC is there for a reason you well enough know. I wish they hadn't fiddled with it early on and kept the one Congressional district- one vote system instead of this winner take all the state's votes. The people that live in rural Am…
It's a multi-asset fund. Yes, bonds are only a portion of their port. Income is the objective and the port can change depending on where the income can be found.
@ron,
Yes on the fixed income but no on the duration. One fund I am using, AMJVX, has a duration of just over 4 years. The other does not show a duration. Also my blend of equities and fixed income will vary as the managers adjust the portfolio.
It appears all the money is going into someone's pocket rather than into improving the site. Be sure to have some salt at hand when you read their fund details.
This has been building over time and yes I agree the election results are a result of this trend. So many jobs have been lost to overseas manufacturing and that includes areas not usually associated with the word. I try to see find American made pro…
The aggravation of leaving does prevent many from pulling their money out but when it's time to roll over that 401k, that company is not even thought of.
My pick is Matthews Asia. When Andrew Foster left, he took a lot of investment expertise with him. They have had some tough moments since. In Q4 of 2014, they did not pay a dividend on their Asia Dividend Fund (MAPIX). I started to sense things were…
Those allocations seem to be the standard for income now. One fund I have has 62% corporates. Bank loans are 19%. The fixed income holdings are weighted more to B and BB. The managers play an important role here in how the fund will perform, more so…
I am optimistic on equities here, especially small and mid caps. The probability of businesses getting tax rate cuts is the spur for this recent market bump. Also, the likelihood of renewed government spending on the military will be good for the c…
2.51% is not much of your portfolio. Do you have 97.5% in equities?
I think in general bonds are going to struggle for the foreseeable future. Rising rates are guaranteed per Janet Yellen. With that said, there are some good places to check out in …
Wellesley is the gold standard of these funds.
I came up with 0.07% for the SCHD expense ratio. It wouldn't be the first time M* was wrong.

SCHD is a good choice. Super low ER.
Another option are income funds. In particular, multi Asset Income funds. They give the manager a wider scope to find income sources wherever they may be. I know TRowe Price has a few in their stable as well as…
This article is using a very brief moment in investing time to make any assumptions on low volatility funds. Smart investors will stay the course if these funds fit their portfolio needs.
Yep. Weak yen is one driver. Japan's economy is growing albeit slowly but that's good compared to the previous years and even decades. PM Abe is favored by most as they have seen improvements.
Regarding small caps, a lot of that has to do with the…
It's always good to have competition and choice. There are those that are Vanguard fanatics, that Vanguard can do no wrong.
Another comparison to do would be with Schwab and their market cap ETFs. They have super low expense ratios.

Index funds generally underperform their target index by the amount of their expense ratio. That's a given. I'm not sure what you mean by outperform as that is not the goal of a index fund. However, some index funds have different ways to play the i…
Hoover would be a kiss of death but nevertheless, with promises of lowered taxes on cap gains and divi's, the markets are sure to do well barring any negatives that occur.
Irrational human behavior as Lewis refers to is just one side of the coin. The markets themselves exhibit a behavior of their own. Rational and irrational. The markets have a tendency to make fools out of everyone that participates.
