davidrmoran : No need to send billing, it's the amount that caught my attention!
@ David_Snowball: When time permits, could you find out if they plan to close GPROX in the manner of GPGOX-GPIOX ?
Also I was wondering how much work it takes to transfer part of a account to the mutual fund originator ? Schwab at this time.

@Happy Camper: Good for you ! FWIW, What are they going to give me for letting my money there? Same old , same old ! I'm surprised they didn't stiff you because, usually you have to ask for ( rebate) up front. Lost out on a deal with Direct th…
@ Junkster: Quoting my late father. " I don't mind playing taxes, as long as I have the money to pay them." You should be so fortunate many times over.

First link, zippo !!
2/nd link , it brings tears to my eyes, to think of all the extra I paid in fees over the years. Good read if you're just getting started in 401-k's
Have a great week, Derf

@Old_Joe: Brokerage going down the tubes would indeed be hard to predict. I was thinking more inline with trying to keep account fully insured . They're only going to pay on what is put into the account , not the interest or return. Net equity woul…
Yes I read the article & passed it on. Why couldn't you pick up your account & move it to a new broker, thus starting out on new pot of money & full coverage ?
Have a cool week, Derf
@bee: compare jaenx & macgx to poagx. More of apples to apples comparison. I see what you're after in draw down to recover time , but don't think bufox was the right fund to use.
Good investing,

@ Crash. I was afraid I would hear back from you with the results you stated. Gal pals budget plan also took a hit last year. House is 7-8 years old but pays less than $50 / month. Maybe it's time to down size?

@ Crash: I'm going 180 from everyone that replied. My thoughts, have you ever had an energy audit? $230 on budget plan seems rather high to me. A little insulation here & there or clear plastic around the windows should bring your gas bill dow…
Mainx over last 30 days , 2 cents diff. Yes there was a dip & recovery but adjusted close for 30 days + 2 pennies . What are you see Crash? Just the market at work, here.
Good week to all, D…
@rjb112: Thanks for explanation of (diff).
I used Yahoo ending 2/nd quter.
VTI =7%
BND =3.84%
vxus=5.56%
Investing $100 in each = $16.40 return divided by 300 = 5.46 combined return.
Have a nice Sun…
catch22: Just came off VG site. They list Nav return % & market price return %. What's the diff ? yahoo & VG had 7 % for VTI. Bnd & Vxus were different. Plus you were using YTD & I'm using end of 2/nd qter. Last 4 days were up !…
reply rjb112: I used yahoo finance. Average of equal amount invested in each fund, app.5.46 % combined return. Investment $1000 = $ 54.60 return. I see catch 22 came up with a different figure , 6.17 % .
Checked with Yahoo finance. PRWCX appears to be the winner over the last (10 yrs.) It beat BUFBX by 12.75 % !! Will it's performance continue over the next 10 years? Your guess is as good as anybody.
Have a good weekend & lets move on.., Derf
Side comment/question on David Herro -- why is OAKEX so tepid while OAKIX does so well? Anyone know?
Appears you're comparing apple to oranges ! check out search tools. I hope this helps, Shostakovich.

Guess what she finds when she compares FPACX and BUFBX since 2007? Not that long ago. She calls you and asks, in her maternal way, wtf?
Here's my 2 cents fwiw. Your data mining so to speak.
If your looking at putting all your money in one fund base…
MikeM : A question if I may. What % of portfolio did you apply to TREMX? The reason behind this question follows. When I try to make a buck or two doing this, buying after sell off, I usually invest < 1 % of total portfolio. As of today I'm…
A bit harder to pull off with beer. The first to come out with a "standard" 8 oz can would likely soon loose market share to those still selling the 12 oz variety. :-)

I think we're missing the elephant in the room to some extent - though appreciate all the cool ideas. Issue runs much deeper than KMart, Walmart, Target, etc. "Big Box" is generally in trouble due to Bezos and the continuing trend to internet …
There are K-Mart locations that I have to imagine could sit empty for years and Sears locations in C and D-level malls that are just not of great value.

Old_Skeeter: I thought you were using commentators pick of Chrome, Danza, & Wicked Strong to make your point. $47.20 times 5 winning tickets equal $236 for Commanding Curve at $10 wps !
Old_Skeeter: I think you need to put your glasses on. Chrome paid a total of $16.80 for win , place, show. Total of $84. As for Danza,s 3/rd place show , $6.00. Total $30.
