@rono - I don't believe that folks are dismissing or making light of the pollution and health risks but rather they are pointing at the blood-sucking lawyers and law firms sucking and crawling around for those payouts which should really be aiding t…
A little snippet rom Alex Eule at Barron's re: yesterday's market action:
"Among the stocks on my dashboard that I follow every day, the biggest gainers were: online car dealer Carvana (+32%), e-commerce firm Wayfair (+28%), alternative meat produc…
Go bankrupt, blame everyone and anyone except himself for the failure. Promise one thing, do another and finally fire anyone who is not sufficiently loyal.
I must have bought your PARA. $16 seemed like a good bet. I wonder what Mr. Buffett and/or his minions are thinking on this one. Also bought AMZN yesterday and DIS before the open. Those prices seemed to be getting a bit ridiculous. Not to say that …
Sure.
Why? Because it's condoned, excused, justified, belittled or mocked depending on what side of the political aisle you occupy. The attack on Paul Pelosi is a recent example. Find me one republican willing to call it out for what it was. Nope. …
@rforno - CHSCN ( 7.10%) actually got down to $23.80 today but closed at $24.31. I'm not understanding why they're selling off when they usually trade at a premium to par.
Scratched an itch today, it was too hard to just watch it and do nothing. I added to two preferred shares I've held for a long time CHSCL ( 7.50%) and CHSCO ( 7.875%).

I'd like to see the data and/or white paper that backs up that statement.
From Heather Cox Richardson's daily missive:
"Still, after all today’s news, the final word belonged to Pelosi. On a video from January 6 released tonight, she is seen reacting to the news that Trump was intending to go to the Capitol, the seat of …
@Baseball_Fan -
You said "We as humans are not generally wired to hold thru large downdrafts...I saw many corporate types happlily retire in 06' then come crawling back begging for their old jobs in 09'...they weren't real happy, nor real motivated…
I don't know, define too often. I treat my portfolio like a garden. Neither probably needs my fiddling on a daily basis but I enjoy looking just the same, just in case. YMMV.
From the Dodge and Cox website: "Class X shares are now available to eligible defined contribution plans. The current shares held by shareholders will be renamed Class I shares, which are open to all investors."

@OJ - how does the wife take to your ranting at the dinner table?
Too bad about BART. When I used it 1986-97 I thought that it was a pretty slick way to get around. The trains were always clean and on time. Hate when these things happen.
I can't spell it but I can smell it. I'm sitting here trying to imagine what might have happened had I ever tried telling any of my customers or clients that their bill for services was actually 2-3-4-5 X what we contracted for. Yeah right.
