32 eminis. size.
8 eminis was a 'normal' sized position for me at the time To be in a position 4x that and going in the opposite direction was ... amusing.
Hah.
The closest I ever got to 'winning' in such a situation was back in the mid-00s when the platform I was trading futures on locked hard and wouldn't send confirmations of trade execution. When the data got fixed I was suddenly short 32 S&P…
For taxable account, you can consider USSH, WisdomTree 1-3 yr Laddered Treasury, ER 0.15. Same as USFR.
We are shifting to 1 and 2 year treasuries as they are rising in recent weeks.
With less than $1M AUM and an average daily volume of < 30…
Dumped the cash into SGOV. Far cheaper than Schwab's Treasury MMFs and I won't be paying Schwab an insane fee for the privilege of holding my cash.
@rforno why did you decide against USFR?
Didn't feel 100% going into floaters at this point in …
WSJ reporting that MS may boot Gill from ETrade over manipulation concerns, so I guess BBF was right, this time there might just be some manipulation afoot. (The article says MS is debating on what kind of retail blowback they'll get if they actual…
I like FLRN a lot. A nice steady trend. If you extrapolate out the 1 and 3 month results, it is returning in the range of 6.8% and 7.2% respectively, very close to it's 1 year return of 6.9%. I also hold RPHYX in this space.
Going out a bit farther…
Oh there's always the piker mania and get-rich-quick schemes every few years - remember the daytrading rage during Dot Com? The housing bubble, another one. And so forth.
I just find it amusing in this case -- but I don't see the USG or Fed backs…
PBS Newshour. That's it for me.
I became a NewsHour regular the week after 9/11 when the cable nets went full jingoism with thier CGI flags and what I saw as forced patriotism coloring everything. Then when they focused more on embeds and the made-f…
Indeed. They've been on a spending spree lately, for better or worse.
I'm sure a lot of people who were Kelcy'd years ago are watching things (and their distributions!) very closely....
We have been sold on hate, and US citizens keep buying. Blame the media, blame the political machines, but also blame people all too willing to be manipulated. FOX takes propaganda to an entirely new level, and folks just Hoover it down.
I…
Thanks for the reminder @yogibearbull. I earlier this morning bought a fed-agency bond and moved money to the sweep right after to cover it.
Schwab's cash management is really giving me the desire to open a Fido account, since T-1 wouldn't be a pro…
That is a great movie clip. It also introduces the CDS (nothing to do with CDs) that really blew up and tanked AIG, etc during the GFC. The Feds had to come to the rescue of these insurance companies and/or banks to the tune of hundreds of billions …
Is this convertible? I suppose not, given the 6% stated Div. Is it uncommon among utilities to issue convertibles?
You're probably looking at the note (CMSC) that pays interest. I own the 'traditional' preferred stock (CMS-C) that pays QDI... o…
Capital and KKR are planning a series of hybrid funds that will invest in both publicly and privately traded assets. The first two strategies, expected to launch next year, will hold about 60% in public bonds picked by Capital managers, and 40% in …
As a frequent Amazoner, the 5% is great. Its statement credit more than paid for a high-end Bosch dishwasher that I purchased locally a few years ago. I only use it for Amazon/Whole Foods but it serves as a 'backup' in my wallet since I'm mostly a…
Relentlessly scouring the investible world for something. Bell Canada BCE is way-undervalued, per M* at -24% disc. HQ in Verdun-Montreal. Of course the geniuses at Schwab will not allow div. reinvestment. But the share price has dropped to the point…
Per CNBC:
Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Donald Trump’s Truth Social network, reported a net loss of $327.6 million, with total revenue at $770,500 in its first fiscal quarter.

I do NOT like the new layout of PV's site. I dare say it's been Morningstar'd in its user interface and is much more cumbersome to use and setup, even if it might look prettier to some.
Looks like they're going for subscriptions now, too - https://…
My county has pretty high 'service' fees for credit cards, so I do e-check.
However, I pay my federal taxes in my CC and get double-points for a reasonable 'service' fee, so that's a nice win. :)
Sold out of DBRG/I in pursuit of other income opportunities.
Sold out of FLNG ahead of earnings over concerns about dividend sustainability, coupled with the fact I couldn't DRIP it @ Schwab. They also recently recategorized part of their 2023 div…
And I bet it costs them more then 13 cents to administer/track/journal that amount, too. LOL
Cash management @ Schwab still sucks bigtime but I don't see that changing anytime soon unless there's a large exodus of AUM.
Invesco website says 5.44% comes from underlying funds - holdings look a mix of funds and individual MLPs. Why would there be funds within anything called "Select".

Because they can? *shrug* Heck, there's also a 5.50 front-end load and .25 12(b)-1 fee as well, just in case you really wanted to twist the knife into your gut. Run fast, run far.
In such cases, I'd definitely use an ETF .. there are several. Jus…
@rforno, They have been migrating accounts in stages for more than a year and they had migrated employee accounts first. Since mine (and @graust) were one of the last accounts to move over, I thought Schwab would have figured out all issues by the …
I recall my Fidelity Visa card had been 2% from the getgo, but evidently my memory is faulty. Never had to ask for 2%. Have dealt w Elan a lot and no problems, except that the card gets hacked a lot. I have replaced ours maybe 4 times the last year-…
Scummy, blind greed. DO them. DO THEM hard and deep and long.
Boeing must be gutted and start from scratch. Shareholders would be GRATEFUL, eh?
As a former BA shareholder in large quanties, HELL TO THE YEAH. At this point it's not just 'mistakes' …
Thanks, Yogi. Good idea.
@rforno, I called the transition team to get an ETA on the lot history so I do not check before that date and was told there is no pending work on it (i.e., no ETA) as they are not aware of any issues. (I had to disclose …
When I moved from TD to Schwab in 2020 after the merger was announced, it took a few days for my cost basis / history to populate, but it did. Same thing happened when I transferred that Schwab account into a new Schwab account last fall so I could…
Glad it's not just me.
@Hank, we have similar reading tastes. I also have come to appreciate the crowdsourced comments on SeekingAlpha as well -- many times there's more useful nuggets there from knowlegeable folks like us than the authors who are…
This ought to be a fun thread. Something about dividends seems to get some folks animated. :)
It usually does over @ Bogleheads. :)
As a dividend investor I don't really care about dividends that are 0-3.0 yield. So what if Apple pays 0.55%? I…
Either way you still need to buy/sell a MMF or other cashy fund @ Schwab to make the $$$ available to avoid a short-term margin loan. (T-1 helps, but still, that friction is annoying)
One year/quarter a trend does not make and I just let the position do its thing ... I see no reason for concern w/PRWCX or Giroux at this point, or anytime soon pending some major oddities coming from him or the fund.
Many of you know I don't care …
Thanks @rforno….a good reason to hold ETF “cash-like” holdings for “investable cash” once we move to Schwab. Much obliged.
FWIW saying, if I wanted to move my cash into a fund, I would own an cash-like ETF or t-bill vs a Schwab fund --- just on pri…
