I know you are not a fan of his, Mona (understatement :) )
Another Bills fan!!! Junkster just sent me a note saying the same. GO BILLS! They will be right down the road from me when training camp starts next week at St. John Fisher College. But tickets sold out in hours, so I won't be going. Are you from the area, Western NY?
@Crash, from our friendly Schwab Research tab :) . Right next to this data it shows RSI which I think you like to look at, at 43, possibly in buy range if that is something you want to consider.

I have to admit, I looked at your post @Crash while I was at Panera Bread, drinking coffee and reading the Barons paper. I started to laugh.
Now that I'm home, I logged into my Schwab account, clicked 'Research' at the top of the page, clicked 'M…
There are a few high flyers out there. SMCI, Super Micro Computer Inc for example. If not moving markets, this stock seems to be moving the ETF XMHQ (Invesco S and P Midcap Quality). It's XMHQ's largest holding and is up ~208% YTD. This ETF has been…
Glad it worked out @Crash. Personally, I like the idea of a branch office in the neighborhood. Yeah, you have to schedule an appointment, but face to face conversations just appeal to me. I used to set up a talk with my contact guy once or twice a y…
Thought I'd bring this fund up again. I bought into this hedged equity fund, PHEFX, back in Dec. JHQAX is one of my larger holdings so I thought I'd compare return so far.

@Crash, above from yogi. There is a link that might help. There seems to be a difference between a transfer and a roll-over. But they will explain more I'm sure.
Yogi, I think this is saying what I said. I "rolled" a 401k to an IRA. Funds were not transferable. A "transfer" would be moving an account of the same kind to a different brokerage, example, IRA to IRA. In that case funds are transferable.
Am I wr…
Just a heads up @Crash. When I transferred my 401k from TRP to a Schwab IRA back in 2014, Schwab told me they didn't allow transfers in-kind. Meaning all the money went to cash and I had to buy funds again. That is actually the reason I kept a sizea…
Appointments are a pre-requisite. Just walking in, even as a customer, will get you nowhere. And I have read that my downtown branch will NOT ACCEPT CASH???? WTF.
:) :) :) , sorry crash, that makes me giggle. I think your mind is stuck in a differe…
I wouldn't be surprised if the market drops back another 5-10% from today. Heck, the S&P 500 is still up ~15% since the start of Nov. If I buy anything it will probably be adding to balanced fund CGBL, Capital Group Core Balanced. A limit order …

Establishment Liberals
… along with 13% the public
I would have thought I fit into a majority, not a 13% segment of the population. Interesting.
My boring, bond-heavy portfolio is up 3.26% YTD, all ETFs or MFs. I like normalized interest rates.
@Low_Tech, that is really good for a bond heavy portfolio. I'm having a hard time finding bond funds returning anywhere near 3.2% YTD. It must be the…
Plain old vanilla balanced funds (with good management of course) are doing pretty good YTD. CGBL (Capital Group Core Balanced ETF) is up ~3%. Other notables, PRWCX 2.4%, FPACX 1.8%. Even more conservative PRCFX is up 1.2%.
I'm not much different @Crash. Up just slightly from the 2022 high, but on a positive note, up about 15% from the 2022 low. Bottom line, 2022 sucked.
Up about 1.6% YTD with a similar to you combined 45% equity stake. I'd like to think 2024 will be…
If you are looking for a sleep good, more conservative balanced fund, I think WBALX is a pretty good choice. I think it is a Great Owl fund, so an added positive track record to consider.
I considered WBALX when I was shopping for the same a few m…
Yeah, @Crash. Sectors like Natural Resources are more of a momentum play, I think, than a buy and hold core investment. NR has been a poor investment for over 10 years. It's not PRNEX, it's the sector it invests in.
Growth of $10,000 over 10 years …
If there is an EM fund to be in, GQGIX has been the one. India has been on a tear and Brazil morerecently is doing well after many years of not. Good job and good luck @PRESSmUP.
At my age, 70, my risk tolerance won't allow me to carry a high enough percentage in a pure EM fund to make it worthwhile, so why bother. I agree with all who posted above.
I'm all in @Bobpa. One of my largest holdings. Bought at conception. I really haven't paid attention to sort term results. I'm in because it has the same manager and process as PRWCX, albeit a more conservative version.
I don't think M* gave you the right information, @hank. When I look with Schwab, LCORX has net equities of 62% (76 long, 14 short), 17% bonds and 21% cash (as of 12/31/23). LCR has differed little in holdings than LCORX since LCR inception.
Bummer. For anyone trying to access the article through my link, it's not connected anymore, at least for me.
There is a new link for the 15 most wealth creating funds I'll link below, but I suppose that one has a life too.

@Mark, that's just a minor sin. I bought shares of the hated TSLA last Thursday. Weeee'l seeee. I have an order in to buy more if it drops to the mid 170's.
Hunch: I'm expecting nothing in the way of cuts until 2025.
Hmm, I would be very surprised! The FED was very late on addressing interest rates to curb inflation. But now it would be an even bigger mistake keeping them high for an extended period.
Not sure I'd call those two funds comparable when it comes to duration or risk.
Agree. RPHIX and TUHYX are like night and day. They are not at all comparable in their approach, volatility and risk/reward agenda.
Thanks Yogi. Way back from 2010. Seems in that interview, Evansky was a proponent of 2 buckets. I think he said 2 years cash and the standard 60:40 portfolio. I could hear Christine late in the interview almost edging him on for the idea that more b…
That's a good article and video @hank. He seems to be a proponent of 5 years cash and then a portfolio of 50%-60% equity. Well, that seems to me to be a 2 bucket system. Maybe it's just semantics. But his ideas are in line with mine, a cash buffer b…
@Tarwheel, in your opinion, is that a good or bad yield for a conservative balanced fund? I have no idea, myself. I rely on total return, which I think has been pretty good so far.
So @Crash, they looked into your problem, could not duplicate the problem with the information you gave them, they offer to continue to look into the problem if you help them out with a screen shot, and they do all this even though you aren't paying…

I remember that too, @PRESSmUP. Is this the link-report you are referring to?
:) @hank, we are well aware of snowblowers. I actually have 2 Ariens right now.
I'm a bit East of Buffalo, about 70 miles, and we haven't had the snow they have gotten this year. West side of Erie is a beast. I don't think we've had even 6-8 inch…
@JD_co, I've added to CGBL over the past few months also. Is there better? Who knows. Seems to be doing well since inception compared to a few other stalwarts, including PRWCX. American Funds/Capital Group has been running great balanced mutual fund…
Bills vs Lions. Someone would have to win their first Super Bowl! My best friend is from Rhinelander Wisconsin; hence I've always pulled for the Packers too, but Detroit has the better shot this year.

@Mark, I heard what Giroux said too, but if you look at the portfolio holdings in TCAF, there isn't a lot of utility and energy in that portfolio. It's anchored by the big tech stocks, plus UNH. FWIW.
