Thank you sma3! We are spending this summer in northwest again. I have no quiet place I can be before noon eastern (9 am here). Library opens at 9am! I've set up a session for Friday, 2 pm eastern ... posted on board. But, if that does not work, just call me at 805 468 9599 ... if I can pick up I will. Hopefully, can pick a day where you can attended from noon on. Very happy to do! c
@ Brother Hank...
...bear market funds and past bear market performance...I rather view this as an "exercise in futility" as the DODBX experience you mention attests.
Could not help but go back and see if DODBX was ever lowest decile. Nope. Not real…
Thanks John for sharing.
I too find the 6 wonderful, actually I have a 6+ ... easier on my eyes.

I actually had one of those nice (but rare) green days, when most of market was red.
Oil seems to have bottomed. Stabilized? Ditto for industrial metals.
Fannie up pretty big.
Hi catch.
...what is your attraction to Bank of America?
Far reaching financial institution that got hammered during credit crisis, creating a deep value opportunity with thoughtful CEO Brian Moynihan putting legal and reserve issues behind, turning…
No changes since last post.
Stocks: BAC, AIG, HCP, OAK, AA
Funds: FAAFX, SIGIX, DODGX, DODBX, DODFX
Basically, remain all in.
Unsteady as she goes.
Starting to think of BAC like FAAFX...another Great Pumpkin holding.
One day to the next, just all over the place. We have wild turkeys in our area. I've discovered them to be the dumbest, silliest, and most nervous creatures around. But lately, they seem to know better what they are doing than this market.
Considering yesterday's failure by BAC, got off light today in absolute terms. Ended nearly even, down 0.1%.
But in comparison to peers, pretty poor...
MS up 6.1%
C up 3.3%
GS up 3.1%
WFC up 3.5%
JPM up 1.9%
XLF up 2.2%
Good strong day overall th…
Good background post Ted, thanks.
I'm still stunned.
With all the scrutiny at BAC and with Brian Moynihan, it is inconceivable that they did not make this plan and attendant processes a priority.
I did see recently that Moynihan took a "pay cut" …
AGG not offering very much appeal (see graph below)...
If the market is "overvalued" and everybody expects interest rate to raise, is there a "safe" place to be...other than cash? (I believe David and Ed have been thinking a lot lately about this q…
Ha! Was holding my breath a bit on the stress tests.
But worked out pretty well. If bittersweet, given rest of market sold off yesterday. And AA and HCP have both been downers lately, downgrade targets.
February was a great month for market with S…
So are you buying then?
Well, I've bought ... back in late January ... all-in right now.
BAC largest holding, 25% of total portfolio.
AIG & OAK at 15% each.
HCP & AA at 10% each.
Heavy financials, obviously.
Rest in FAAFX, SIGIX, DODGX, D…
Kind of weird day for me in that all direct equity holdings except HCP were up, mostly 'cause of financials after positive stress tests. HCP was slammed though, along with many other income favs 'cause of anticipation that bond yields are headed up.…
Thanks Junkster for Dr. Yardeni doc.
Hard to tell at by just looking at the charts the basis for his bull/bear metrics. But it certainly indicates bullish.
Quick search on internet shows he does like to be in the news. I noticed that last year he …
baseball season
Well, Alex is back.
Tell me I'm supposed to be excited. He actually had a good day. And, seems to be more humble. So, fingers-crossed.
Fear though that this may be another "transitional" year for the Yankees, looks like. Boy I long…
