Thank you sma3! We are spending this summer in northwest again. I have no quiet place I can be before noon eastern (9 am here). Library opens at 9am! I've set up a session for Friday, 2 pm eastern ... posted on board. But, if that does not work, just call me at 805 468 9599 ... if I can pick up I will. Hopefully, can pick a day where you can attended from noon on. Very happy to do! c
Ha! Got you Linkster. Bee started this thread yesterday:

Ha! Love you guys. May be you are right. Perhaps we generate no less entropy after retirement...then when we were full-fledged producing members of society.
And then plugging say OSTIX into Chip's Risk Profile, I can see that Osterweis has done pretty well compared with other reference funds, like Vanguard's Total Bond and Balanced Index funds:
Using Accipiter's Miraculous Multi-Search, I screened for High Yield Taxable Bond Funds in Risk Group 1 or 2 that are also Great Owls...
Turned-up a pretty good list of options:
Hmmm. Hedge out market risk and seek out individual companies/sectors that will out perform or underperform. It is the ultimate all-weather strategy, no? I think the folks at Whitebox are doing a pretty good job so far implementing the strategy to v…

OK, think it's fixed now. Thanks to help from Chip.
Still slow compared to Chrome, but it works.

I remember getting a call from my wife, while I was on business trip. She informed me that some relatives had decided to sell all their stocks/equity funds...moved money to fixed income. They were afraid that they might lose everything. She wondered…
Thanks msf, as usual. I checked with Schwab this morning and got a "no," but maybe there was a misunderstanding. I (and other members of my family) own D&C funds direct with D&C, so we will be voting for sure. I might even decide to attend t…
I'll weigh in here since I think most active funds are over priced.
I compare everybody against D&C, which is only 0.53 for DODGX and 0.65 for DODWX (global). Single share class. No load.
My back goes up at anything over 1%, unless it is long …
I think only direct owners in the fund get to vote. So, if you own through say Schwab, you do not get to vote, unless Schwab offers similar proxy vote...at this time, it does not.
Hey, MPGFX is very good, but it has spent time in the barrel (like -55% drawdown in 2009).
Given that you seem to be more risk averse, I like Bretton Fund more and more...BTRNX. Maybe you too should consider.
Here is M* performance plot since ince…
Of course my favorite "sleep easy" (if there is such a thing) EM fund and fund house is SFGIX / SIGIX at Seafarer:

But if you do deci…
It's interesting to me that M* has never covered FAAFX, given how much it fawned over FAIRX. Part of me thinks that M* has never forgiven BB since way under-performing in 2011, resulting in massive outflows from unsuspecting investors and perhaps a…
