I have heard the same thing about logging into one's account. Matthews Asia has a requirement to log into more frequently (every 3 or 6 months) to keep your password active. Participating in proxy voting on issues will also suffice.

I still have not transitioned my VG accounts. I'll wait and see their next move, but I don't see how they can force someone to take a brokerage account when they do not want or need one.
I actually own Sequoia in my Roth Account. I bought into it when the fund reopened after so many years being closed.
