2 Sectors That May Be Past Their Peak

Comments

  • @Ted:
What are your thoughts about the biotechnology sector going forward?
Is it time to take profits?
Would you leave your initial investment in place and hold?
Thoughts/comments from anyone else are welcome and encouraged as well.
    Regards,
    MPS
  • Hold there's room yet to run.

  • Impossible to pick a top but from technicals I would expect a 4-6% pullback in biotech soon that shouldn't be a concern given its rise so far. The trend and momentum is still up. But I would use a stop at around 7% below current. Any shock to the markets (such as Ukraine situation getting worse with Russia) can easily result in a 10-15% correction in biotech in a broader market correction (which will also be a buying opportunity).
  • Another good day for biotech funds, not so much for general healthcare funds.

  • Thanks to both of you for the information and insight. I now have a point of departure and a reasonable plan for the near-term.
    All the best,
